What is the meaning of word 'Vedant'?

The word ‘ Vedanta ‘ means the end of ‘Knowing’. It indicates that wisdom and vision which, when known , there is nothing else remains to be known.

The moment we want to know anything , the trinity of ‘ Jnata’ (knower),’ jnana’ (knowledge), and ‘ jneya’ ( the object to be known) naturally comes up . So long as the knower, or observer perceives himself as a separate entity, different from the object of perception, it is only relative knowledge . Here the process of ‘knowing’ is incomplete , because it does not make the observer aware of the fact that he himself is the inseparable part of the ‘THING’ which he is observing.

This TRINITY (Triputi) is a threefold unity. The Vedanta , in truth, aims at unfolding this trinity
