Indoor: They are usually played inside a building, just like basketball and volleyball.
Outdoor: They are usually played in a building without a roof or in an open field, like lacrosse or soccer.
Similarities:
- If it involves physical activity, it’s definitely a sport. Indoor games, with the exception of board games, are generally sports while outdoor ones are definitely sports.
- They are both good, no, great for your overall physical and mental training.
- Some outdoor games might have indoor versions and vice-versa.
Differences:
- Outdoor games are played in large “stadiums” or “courts” while indoor games are played in much smaller environments. Board-games like chess, for example require just a small table.
- Outdoor games tend to require more full-body displacement in contrast to indoor games which might at times require you to move only a fraction of your body, while staying almost rooted to one spot.
