Vepour Pressure of Hexane & Heptane at a given temperature are 120 & 80mm. of Hg respectively. Calculate total vepour Pressure of Solution which is obtained by mixing 8 mole of Hexane & 2 mole of Heptane ?​

Pt=Pa Xa +Pb Xb

Pt=120.8/10 +80.2/10

Pt= 96+16

Pt=112 mm of Hg

where Pa and Pb are vapour pressures of hexane and heptane respectively.

Xa and Xb are mole fractions of hexane and heptane.

(mole fraction=no.of moles/total no.of moles)
