Verbal to Non-verbal :

A rainforest is a large, thick forest found in tropical areas that receive more than 100 inches of rain a

year. They are mainly found near and around the equator. There are four layers to the rainforest, each

with its own unique plants. The emergent layer is the very top layer of a rainforest. It's the brightest layer

because it gets the most sunlight. The canopy layer is the second layer of the rainforest. It is a thick layer

of branches and vines. The third layer is called the understory. This is a thick, dark tangle of vines, shrubs,

and trees. The fourth layer is the undergrowth where smaller plants grow.

A coniferous forest is one made up of trees called conifers or cone bearing trees. These forests are

spread across the northern hemisphere (north of the equator), although they can also be found in certain

places in the southern hemisphere. Although you will find some coniferous forests in warmer climates,

they are known for growing best in climates where there are short summers and long, cold winters. The

coniferous forest is structured in only two layers. The canopy layer, which is made up of the tallest trees,

and the undergrowth later, which has very little plant life around it due to very little sunlight and poor soil.
