Hi there. There are different types of pollution so causes and possible solutions vary:

  • Air Pollution

causes: harmful gases from factories, vehicles and burning of wastes

solutions: use electronic vehicles, carpool with friends; do not burn wastes, throw them in proper places; tell factory owners to control the emissions

  • Water Pollution

causes: dirty water from industries, improper disposal of wastes and plastic trash, oil spills

solutions: proper waste segregation, tell industries not to throw dirty water into bodies of water

  • Soil Pollution

causes: use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides,  improper disposal of wastes

solutions: use organic fertilizers, reduce the use of chemicals, proper waste disposal

  • Noise Pollution

causes: sounds of the city life, honks and sirens of vehicles, loud noises from construction sites

solutions: respect people by minimizing volumes on your electronic gadgets, avoid unnecessary honking of your car during a traffic

  • Radioactive Pollution

causes: nuclear wastes from nuclear plants, emissions from batteries, mining and extraction of minerals

solutions: continuous monitoring of radiation level, decontamination of contaminated sites

  • Light Pollution

causes: too much outdoor light from industrial and residential areas

solutions: use high-efficiency LED lights, turn off lights when not in use

But above all, the best solution to cut off pollution is to be a responsible consumer. Buy only essential goods. Help protect our environment, do something.
