Concept

BODMAS is a rule for the sequence of operations to be performed while simplifying the mathematical expressions. The full form of BODMAS is Brackets, Order, Division, Multiplication and Subtraction. We will have to do in the same order as the full form proceeds.

Given

[(-5)*2]*3=(-5)*[2*3]

To find

We have to verify both sides of the expression being equal.

Explanation

We have been given an expression as [(-5)*2]*3=(-5)*[2*3].

Taking left hand side.

[(-5)*2]*3

First we have to solve the () brackets.

=[-5*2]*3

Now multiply -5 with 2.

=[-10]*3

Now remove the brackets [].

=-10*3

=-30

Taking right side.

=(-5)*[2*3]

Removing brackets.

=-5*6

=-30

We can say that left hand side is equal to right hand side as -30.

Concept:

BODMAS:

A rule used to simplify the mathematical expressions.

B - Brackets

O - Of

D - Division

M - Multiplication

A - Addition

S - Subtraction.

Given:

[ ( - 5 ) × 2 ] × 3 = ( - 5 ) × [ 2 × 3 ]

Find:

We need to verify the expression.

Solution:

We have:

[ ( - 5 ) × 2 ] × 3 = ( - 5 ) × [ 2 × 3 ]

First solving the operation of multiplication:

[ - 10 ] × 3 = ( - 5 ) × [ 6 ]

Now solving the brackets:

( - 10 ) × 3 = ( - 5 ) × 6

Simplifying the expression:

- 30 = - 30

Since LHS = RHS, the expression is verified.

Therefore, we have verified the expression [ ( - 5 ) × 2 ] × 3 = ( - 5 ) × [ 2 × 3 ].
