Given:

a=-3, b=-8

To verify:

a - ( - b) = a + b

Solution:

Let us first solve for L. H. S.

Since the value of a and b are known to us, just plug them in the above expression.

\longrightarrow{\green{}}  - 3 - [ - ( - 8)]

\longrightarrow{\green{}}  - 3 - ( + 8)

\longrightarrow{\green{}}  - 3  -  8

\longrightarrow{\green{}}  - 11

Now, R. H. S.

\longrightarrow{\green{}}  - 3 + ( - 8)

\longrightarrow{\green{}}  - 3 - 8

\longrightarrow{\green{}}  - 11

\longrightarrow{\green{}} L. H. S.

Since L. H. S. = R. H. S.

Hence it is verified.
