We know that,

a=-9/13 & b=-8/5.

Now, LHS= a+b = (-9/13)+(-8/5)= -45- 104/65= -149/13.

And, RHS= b+a = (-8/5)+(-9/13)= -104-45/65= -149/13.

So LHS= RHS

a+b=-9/13+(-8/5)
= -9/13-8/5
take LCM for 13&5 we get 65
so it becomes -45-104/65
= -149/65
b+a=-149/65 is same as above
so it is verified
