Answer:

Associative property of multiplication.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :- a = 1/2, b = -1/3 and c = 1/4 .

To Find :- Verify a x ( b x c) = ( a x b) x c for a = 1/2, b = -1/3 and c = 1/4.

                Name the property.

Solution :-

We know that,

Associative property of multiplication says that,

                                  a x ( b x c) = ( a x b) x c

a = 1/2, b = -1/3 and c = 1/4

∴ a x ( b x c) = 1/2 × (-1/3 × 1/4)

                    = 1/2 × -1/12

                    = -1/24 .

Now, ( a x b) x c = ( 1/2 × (-1/3) ) × 1/4

                           = -1/6 × 1/4

                           = -1/24

Therefore, from above we say that a x ( b x c) = ( a x b) x c = -1/24 for a = 1/2, b = -1/3 and c = 1/4.

Hence verified.
