  • We have to evaluate the above expression by using the given data.

              Given data:- y=5.

              To find:- Value of the expression 3y-7=8.

              Solution:-

  •  To solve the above equation we will follow the BODMAS rule.
  • BODMAS is an order of mathematic operations.
  • BODMAS rule is to be followed while solving expressions in mathematics. It stands for,

           B= bracket

           O= order of power or rules

           D= division

           M= multiplication

           A= addition

           S= subtraction

    Now put the value of y in the given equation we get,

         3y-7=8\\\Rightarrow 3(5)-7=8\\\Rightarrow 15-7=8\\\Rightarrow 8=8\\\Rightarrow \frac{8}{8}\\\Rightarrow 1.

     Hence we will get the value 1.
