Here, RAJU is a parallelogram with AC as its diagonal.

We know, in parallelogram opposites sides are parallel.

So, RA∥UJand RU∥AJ

Since, RA∥UJ and RJis the transversal

⇒ ∠ARJ=∠URA ---- ( 1 ) [ Alternate angles ]

Similarly, RU∥AJ and AC is the transversal.

⇒ ∠URJ=∠AJR ---- ( 2 ) [ Alternate angles ]

Adding ( 1 ) and ( 2 ),

⇒ ∠ARC+∠UAJ=∠UJA+∠AJA

⇒ ∠ARU=∠UJA

Similarly, we can prove, ∠RUJ=∠RAJ

∴ We have proved that, opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal.
