Answer:

LHS = a+b+c

= 1/2+ 3/4+( -2/3)

= 1/2 + 3/4 - 2/3

now take LCM of the denominators

= 1×6/2×6 + 3×3/4×3 - 2×4/3×4

=6/12 +9/12 -8/12

now take 12 as common

= 6+9-8/12

= 15-8/12

= 7/12

RHS = (a+b) +c

= ( 1/2 + 3/4 ) + (-2/3)

= ( 1×2/2×2 + 3×1/4×1 ) -2/3

= ( 2/4 + 3/4 ) -2/3

= (2+3/4) - 2/3

= 5/4 - 2/3

= 5×3/4×3 -2×4/3×4

= 15/12 -8/12

= 15-8/12

= 7/12

Since LHS = RHS

Hence verified
