Verify that the sum of three rational no. 1/2,2/3 and 5/4 remains the same even after changing the grouping . hints- check (x+y)+z and x+(y+z) . are equal or not.

Case 1 --->>. (1/2 + 2/3) + 5/4

According to BODMAS rule we have to silve the brackets first.

(3/6 + 4/6) + 5/4

7/6 + 5/4 = 14/12 + 15/12 = 29/12

case 2. 1/2 + (2/3 + 5/4) = 1/2 + ( 8/12 + 15/12)

1/2 + ( 23/12) = 6/12 + 23/12 = 29/12

hence verified that in both cases sum is 29/12 and the sum of three rational numbers remains the same even after changing the grouping.
