Step-by-step explanation:

{5/4+(-1/2)}+(-3/2) = 5/4+{(-1/2)+(-3/2)}

(5/4-1/2)-3/2 = 5/4+(-1/2-3/2)

((5-2)/4)-3/2 = 5/4+((-1-3)/2)

3/4-3/2 = 5/4-4/2

(3-6)/4 = (5-8)/4

(-3)/4 = (-3)/4

Verified

VerifiedThe given property used is Distributive property

GIVEN :-

( \frac{5}{4}   +( -   \frac {  1}{4}) +   ( -  \frac{3}{2}) =  \frac{ 5}{4}  + (  - \frac{  1}{2}  +   (- \frac{ 3}{2} ))

TO FIND :-Verify Left hand side (LHS) = Right hand Side

SOLUTION:-

EVALUATING L.H.S

( \frac{5}{4}   +( -   \frac {  1}{4}) +   ( -  \frac{3}{2}) \\  =  \frac{5}{4}   -   \frac{1}{4}  -  \frac{3}{2}

By taking LCM of the denominator 4,4,2 is 4

 \frac{5}{4}  \times  \frac{1}{1}  -  \frac{1}{4}  \times  \frac{1}{1}  -  \frac{3}{2}  \times  \frac{2}{2}  \\  =  \ \frac{5}{4}  -  \frac{1}{4}  -  \frac{6}{4} \\  =  \frac{5 - 2 - 6}{4}   \\  =   - \frac{  3}{4}

Evaluating R.H.S

\frac{ 5}{4}  + (  - \frac{  1}{2}  +   (- \frac{ 3}{2} )) \\  =  \frac{5}{4}  -  \frac{1}{2}  -  \frac{3}{2} \\

By taking LCM of the denominator 4,2,2 is 4

 =  \frac{5}{4}  \times  \frac{1}{1}  -  \frac{1}{2}  \times  \frac{2}{2}   -  \frac{3}{2}  \times  \frac{2}{2}  \\ = \frac{5}{4}  -  \frac{2}{4}  -  \frac{6}{4} \\ = \frac{5 - 2 - 6}{4}

 =   -  \frac{  3}{4}

Therefore L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence, verified

The given property used is Distributive property
