Verify the following.

(i) 18 × [7 + (–3)] = [18 × 7] + [18 × (–3)]

(ii) (–21) × [(–4) + (–6)] = [(–21) × (–4)] + [(–21) × (–6)]

Step-by-step explanation:

1. 18× [7+(-3)]= [18×7]+[18×(-3)]

18×[7-3)]=126+[-54]

18×4=126-54

72=72

LHS=RHS

2. (-21)×[(-4)+(-6)]=[(-21)×(-4)]+[(-21)×(-6)]

(-21)×[(-4-6)]=[(84)]+[126)]

-21×-10 =210

210= 210

LHS=RHS

a) 18 × [7 + (–3)] = [18 × 7] + [18 × (–3)]

Sol :- 18 × [7 - 3] = 126 + [- 54]

= 18 × 4 = 126 - 54

= 72 = 72

Therefore,

LHS = RHS

b) (–21) × [(–4) + (–6)] = [(–21) × (–4)] + [(–21) × (–6)]

Sol :- -21 × [-4 - 6] = [(84)] + [126]

= -21 × [-10] = 210

= 210 = 210

Therefore,

LHS = RHS
