( a × b ) × c = ( 2 × 3 ) × 4
= 6 × 4
= 24 ----( 1 )
a × ( b × c ) = 2 × ( 3 × 4 )
= 2 × 12
= 24 ---( 2 )
( 1 ) = ( 2 )
( a × b ) × c = a × ( b × c )
2 ) if a = 5 , b = - 8 , c = - 7
( a × b ) × c = [ 5 × ( - 8 ) ] × ( - 7 )
= ( - 40 ) × ( - 7 )
= 280 -----( 3 )
a ×( b × c ) = 5 × [ ( - 8 ) × ( - 7 ) ]
= 5 × 56
= 280 ---( 4 )
