Answer:-

In the question is given to verify the property

x × ( y + z) = x × y + x × z

Where, x = -2, y = -4/6 and z = -7/9

Then,

 \tt (-2)×[( \frac{ - 4}{6} )+( \frac{ - 7}{9} )]= (-2) ×( \frac{ - 4}{} ) +(-2) ×( \frac{ - 7}{9} ) \\

 \tt LHS = (-2)×[( \frac{ - 4}{6} )+( \frac{ - 7}{9} )] \\

 \tt  \implies ( - 2) \times [ \frac{ (- 12 )+ ( - 14)}{18} ] \\

\tt  \implies ( - 2) \times  \frac{ - 26}{18}  \\

\tt  \implies  \frac{ 26}{9}  \\

 \tt RHS =(-2) ×( \frac{ - 4}{6} ) +(-2) ×( \frac{ - 7}{9} ) \\

 \tt  \implies \frac{4}{3}  +  \frac{14}{9}  \\

 \tt \implies  \frac{12 + 14}{9}  \\

 \tt \implies \frac{26}{9}  \\

  • By comparing LHS and RHS

LHS = RHS

 \tt ∴ \frac{26}{9} =  \frac{26}{9} \\

Hence x × ( y + z) = x × y + x × z
