 (x + y)(x^2 - xy + y^2) \\ \\ = x^3 - x^2y + xy^2 + x^2y - xy^2 + y^3 \\ \\ = x^3 + y^3

 (x - y)(x^2 + xy + y^2) \\ \\ = x^3 + x^2y + xy^2 - x^2y - xy^2 - y^3 \\ \\ = x^3 - y^3
