p(x) = 2x² + x - 1

Zeroes given: 1/2 and -1

If the given zeroes are actually the zeroes of p(x) then p(1/2) and p(-1) must be equal to zero.

p(1/2):

==> 2(1/2)² + (1/2) - 1

==> 2×1/4 + 1/2 - 1

==> 1/2 + 1/2 - 1

==> 1 - 1

==> 0

p(-1):

==> 2(-1)² + (-1) - 1

==> 2 - 1 - 1

==> 2 - 2

==> 0

Since, p(1/2) and p(-1) equals to zero, Hence 1/2 and -1 are the zeroes of polynomial p(x)
