Heya !!!
P(X) = ( X + 1 ) ( X - 2 )
=> X ( X - 2 ) + 1( X - 2 )
=> X² - 2X + X - 2
=> X² - X - 2
P(X) = X² -X - 2
P(-1) = (-1)² - (-1) - 2
=> 1 + 1 - 2
=> 0
And,
P(2) = (2)² - 2 - 2
=> 4 - 4
=> 0
In both cases remainder is equal to 0. so -1 and 2 are the zeroes of the given quadratic polynomial.
