Hi,

Here is your answer

Given:

p(x)=x³-5x²-4x+20

To Verify:

Whether 2,-5,3 are the zeros of the polynomial or not

Solution:

By check and trial method

p(2)=2³-5×2²-4×2+20

     =8-20-8+20

     =0

Hence 2 is a zero of the given polynomial.

p(-5)= -5³-5×-5²-4×-5+20

      = -125-125-20+20

      = 250≠0

Hence -5 is not a zero of the polynomial

p(3)=3³-5×3²-4×3+20

     =27-45-12+20

     = -10≠0

Hence 3 is not a zero of the polynomial

Hope this helps you.
