x = 3

x^2 -3x -3 =0

(3)^2 -3(3) -3 =0

9 -9 -3 =0

-3 =0

hence it is not a zero of polynomial

Zeros of a Polynomial:

  • The zeros or root of a Polynomial are those value of x for which the value of Polynomial becomes zero
  • For Eg : x = 2 is a zero of ( x - 2)

\huge\mathfrak\blue{Answer:}

Given:

  • We have been given a Quadratic Polynomial x² - 3x - 3 = 0

To Find:

  • We have to verify that whether 3 is a zero of given Quadratic Polynomial or not

Solution:

We have been given that

\sf{ f(x) = x^2 - 3x - 3 }

\\

To verify whether x = 3 is a zero of f(x) Polynomial or not we have to put x = 3 in the following given Polynomial

Putting x = 3 in f(x)

\implies \sf{ f(3) = (3)^2 - 3 \times 3 - 3 }

\implies \sf{ 9 - 9 - 3 }

\implies \sf{ 9 - 12 }

\implies \sf{ -3 \neq 0 }

\\

\sf{\red{Hence \: x = 3 \: is \: not \: a \:  zero \: of  \:Polynomial}}
