Answer:to be associative

a*(b*c)=(a*b)*c

Given:a*b=ab/4

L.H.S=a*(b*c)=a(b*c)/4

=abc/16

R.H.S(a*b)*c=(a*b)c/4

=abc/16

L.H.S=R.H.S

Therefore it is associative
