To verify: (x - y )^{2}  = x^{2} - 2xy + y^{2}  \ for \ x = 2 \ and\  y = 1

Given :   x = 2     \  and \ y =1

Now , substituting value of  x and y we can  verify given expression.

⇒    (x - y )^{2}  = x^{2} - 2xy + y^{2}

carrying addition and subtraction operations we can verify

⇒    (2 - 1) ^{2} = (2)^{2} -2 (2)(1) +(1)^{2}

⇒     (1)^{2} = 4 - 4 + 1

⇒     1 = 1

Hence verified , since LHS = RHS .
