Verify x + (y + z) = (x + y) + z for following values of x, y and z.
1]x=2/3,,y=-5/6,z=-7/9
2]x=-3/5,y=-7/10,-8/15

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

To Verify x+(y+z)=(x+y)+z

(i)x=2/3,y=-5/6,z=-7/9

LHS = 2/3 + (-5/6 + (-7/9) =  2/3 + ( -5/6  - 7/9) =  2/3 + (-29/18) = 2/3 - 29/18

= 12/18 - 29/18 = -17/18

RHS = (2/3 + (-5/6) ) + (-7/9) =  (2/3 - 5/6) - 7/9 = (-1/6) - 7/9 = -1/6 - 7/9 = -3/18 - 14/18 = -17/18

LHS = RHS =17/18.

(ii)x=-3/5,y=-7/10,z=-8/15

LHS = -3/5 + (-7/10 + (-8/15) ) = -3/5 +  (-7/10 - 8/15) = -3/5 + (-37/30) = -3/5 - 37/30 = -55/30 = -11/6

RHS = (-3/5 + (-7/10) ) + (-8/15) = (-3/5 - 7/10)  - 8/15 = -13/10 -8/15 = -55/30 = -11/6

LHS  = RHS

hence verified

    Hope it helped you : )
