vertibrates and invertibrates info plz urgent

Vertebrates are animals with backbones and spinal cord...they also have well developed skeletal system usually....eg:mammals.
Invertebrates are those living organisms that dont have backbones or spinal cord...they usually are fragile organisims or will have a external protective cover. eg: insects most of them.
These two terms have evolved from the classification on the basis of those organisms that have backbones(vertebrae) or not..
