Area of rectangle = 6*3=18sq cm......... 1

Now area of triangle = 1/2* b* h

=> 1/2*4*3

=> 6sq cm....... 2

Again area of triangle = 1/2*b*h

=> 1/2*6*1

=> 3 Sq cm.......3

Now add 3 and 2

We get

9 Sq cm...... 4

Now subtract 4 from 1

We get

18 - 9 = 9 Sq cm = area if shaded part of rectangle
