Speed 1=3km/hr

Speed 2=2km/hr

Time 1=D/S=x/3

Time 2=D/S=x/2

Total time=x/3+x/2

5=5/6x

x=5×6/5

x=6.

Hence, the distance between his school and home is 6 km.
