A rectangle is 16 m long and 9 m wide. Find the side of a square whose area is equal to the area of the

and side of sq = √ 144

Given,

  • Length (l) = 16 m
  • Breadth (b) = 9 m

Area of rectangle

= l × b

= 16 × 9

= 144  \:  {m}^{2}

Since, Area of square = Area of rectangle

So,

 {(</strong><strong>S</strong><strong>ide)}^{2}  = 144 \\ </strong><strong>S</strong><strong>ide =  \sqrt{144}  \\ </strong><strong>S</strong><strong>ide = 12 \: cm

Hence, the required side of the square is 12 cm.
