Answer:

atmosphere does not contain carbon dioxide (because of which all the heat is returned to space). Venus contains a high percentage of carbon dioxide due to which it is hottest planet.

1. Why is Venus the hottest planet even though Mercury is closest to the sun?

\huge{\mathbb{ANSWER}}

Mercury is the closest planet to sun but as its atmosphere does not contain carbondioxide that's why Venus is the hottest planet.

Venus is hot than Mercury because it contains high amount of carbondioxide.
