Sunlight Therapy
☺️Light therapy is a way to treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and certain other conditions by exposure to artificial light. SAD is a type of depression that occurs at a certain time each year, usually in the fall or winter.
☺️During light therapy, you sit or work near a device called a light therapy box. The box gives off bright light that mimics natural outdoor light.
☺️Light therapy is thought to affect brain chemicals linked to mood and sleep, easing SAD symptoms. Using a light therapy box may also help with other types of depression, sleep disorders and other conditions. Light therapy is also known as bright light therapy or phototherapy.
A Great Indian Scientist “Sir C. V Raman”
☺️Sir C V Raman (E) Indian Physicist and Nobel laureate Sir Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman was born in Tiruchirapalli ,Tamil Nadu on 7th November 1888.
☺️He had a keen interest in musical instruments like Veena, Violin and Mridangam and this led to his research based on acoustics.
☺️By 1918 he could explain the complex vibrations of the strings of the musical instruments. While working in Calcutta University he led an experiment with K.S. Krishnan on the scattering of Light on 28th February 1928, and discovered what is now known as Raman effect.
☺️ He was awarded Nobel Prize in Physics for this discovery in 1930 and became the first Asian to receive this award.
☺️ In 1933 he joined Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore as its first Indian Director.
☺️Raman also studied the spectroscopic behavior of crystals and dealt with the structure and optical behavior of iridescent substances.
☺️Raman retired from the Indian Institute of Science in 1948 and established the Raman Research Institute in Bangalore.
☺️ He was also one of the first Bharat Ratna awardees in 1954, the year in which the award was instituted.
