It's a reality of dealing with people...so often, they fail to do what they say they will do.
I was discussing this with a colleague several weeks ago. In my normal fashion, I sought to play "armchair psychologist", drawing on my past clinical experience (as the "clinician", not the "client" - thank you!) to attempt to explain the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral factors that cause people to not follow through on their commitments.
