ANSWER:

  • Pressure = 5 pa

GIVEN:

  • Force / Thrust =5N
  • Contact Area = 1m^2

TO FIND:

  • Pressure when force = 5N and area = 1m^2

SOLUTION:

Formula

pressure =  \frac{thrust}{contact \: area}

Putting force = 5N and area = 1m^2 we get;

pressure \:  =  \frac{5}{1}  \\ pressure \:  = 5

So: pressure = 5 pa

NOTE:

some important formulas:

(1) \: force = mass \times acceleration \\ (2) \: work \: done = force \:  \times displacememt \\ (3) \: kinetic \: energy \:  =  \frac{1}{2} mv {}^{2}  \\ (4) \: potential \: energy \:  =  \: mgh

  • where : m = mass. v= velocity. g = acceleration due to gravity.
