Solution :-

Money spent on food = $ 150

Money spent on car = $ 244

Money spent on rent = $ 300

Savings = $ 50

Total money spent + saving

= $ 150 + $ 244 + $ 300 + $ 50

= $ 744

Total monthly income = $ 1240

Money left after incurring expenses and savings = $ 1240 - $ 744

= $ 496

So, $ 496 left after incurring expenses and savings from the monthly income

Therefore, he can spend $ 496 on the other things

Percentage = (496*100)/1240

= 49600/1240

= 40 %

Hence, he can spend 40 % of his total monthly income on the other things.
