Answers
Solution :-
Let us assume that, Marked price of each watch is $x .
so,
→ SP of first watch after 30% discount = (x * 70/100 = $0.7x
→ SP of second watch after 20% discount = (x * 80/100 = $0.8x .
→ SP of third watch after 10% discount = (x * 90/100 = $0.9x
A/q,
→ 0.7x + 0.8x + 0.9x = 240
→ 2.4x = 240
→ x = $ 100
then,
→ Total MP of all three watches = 100 * 3 = $300 .
therefore,
→ Total loss by giving discounts = 300 - 240 = $60 (B) (Ans.B)

To Find : how many much money did he lose by giving the discounts?
A) $45
B) $60
C) $75
D) $90
Solution:
Let say price of 1 watch = 100 P
Discount = 30P , 20 P and 10 P
Selling Price = 3 * 100 P - ( 30P + 20P + 10P )
= 300 P - 60P
= 240P
240P = 240
=> P = 1
Discount = 60P = 60 (1) = 60
Money lost in discount = $ 60
