Vidhushi is 8 times as old as her grandson. Four years
ago. Vidhushi was 12 times as old as her grandson.
Find the difference between their present ages.​

Let, the Present age of Vidushi be x years and present age of her grandson be y years

According to the 1st case :

x = 8y .... (1)

According to the 2nd case :

(x-4) = 12(y-4) .... (1)

On solving equations (1) and (2) :

8y-4 = 12y-48

=> 4y = 44

=> y = 11

So, the present age of Vidushi's grandson is 11 years

Now, on putting the value of y in equation (1) :

x = 8×11

=> x = 88

So, the present age of Vidushi is 88 years

Difference = 88 - 11 = 77 years
