HELLO,
Mere Sapno Ka Bharat will be new social mantra for BJP to get ground-level feedback and gauge people’s pulse and aspirations.
A core group in the party is giving final touches to this campaign to be launched shortly, Smriti Z. Irani, BJP Vice President, said.
“We are currently in the process of tweaking the project and expect to launch it shortly. The idea is to allow people to express themselves about what they want, the issues they expect to be addressed and how they feel about any issue,” she said.
Speaking on the sidelines of an interactive meeting hosted by the FICCI’s Ladies Organisation here, she said, “A core team will monitor the inputs provided from across the country and see how these could be addressed. The thinking behind such an initiative is also to get a grassroots level assessment of people’s concerns.”
With mobile phones and Internet access across all over the country, people can simply upload voice bytes or video clips, she said.
The project will be launched by BJP’s presidential candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
“We are conservatively estimating that more than 10 lakh people will initially participate in this social media platform and hope that more than 30 lakh to provide their valuable inputs. Most people are now using social media as a platform to express themselves, and we feel that this would provide them with an ideal opportunity,” she said.
TULSI GIRL
The Television star-turned politician and now BJP Vice President, who rose to fame with her role as Tulsi in Kabhi Saas Bhi Bahu Thi, outlined how women have multitasking capabilities and can juggle different roles effectively given an opportunity to express themselves.
Narrating some initiatives taken in the BJP-governed States of Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, she said several of them have become popular with people. These include electing women as panchayat heads with consensus, empowering self-help groups through thrift movement, making women in-charge for access to civil supplies services and making women in-charge of fair price shops.
