Hello Dear.

Here is the answer---

Let the Marks of the Vijay in Maths and History be 4x and 3x respectively.

According to the Question,
Vijay got thrice as many marks in Maths as in English.
∴ Vijay marks in Maths = 3 × Marks in English
∴ 4x = 3 × Marks in English.
⇒ Marks of the Vijay in English = 4x/3

  Marks of (Maths + English + History) = 250
⇒ 4x + 4x/3 + 3x = 250
⇒ (12x + 4x + 9x) = 250 × 3
⇒ 25x = 250 × 3
⇒ x = 10 × 3
⇒ x = 30

∴ Marks of Vijay in English = 4 × 30/3
= 4 × 10
= 40 Marks.

Hope it helps.
