Vikas is three years older than Deepaka. Six years ago, Vikas's age was four times deepika's age. Find the ages of Deepaka and Vikas

Deepaka's age is 7& Vikas's age is 10.
let the present age of Deepaka be 'x'.
∴Vikas's age=x+3
Deepaka's age 6yrs ago=x-6
vikas's age 4yrs ago will be:-x+3-6=x-3
and given that 
4(Deepaka's age 6yrs ago)=vikas's age 6yrs ago
∴4(x-6)=x-3
4x-24=x-3
4x-24-x= -3
3x-24= -3
3x=21
∴x=7
∴Deepaka's age=7yrs
&Vikas's age=7+3=10yrs

x=y+3.............................1
x-6=4(y-6)
x-6=4y-24
x-4y=-18..........................2
putting the value of x in 2
y+3-4y=-18
-3y=-21
y=-21/-3y
=7

x=10
Hence the age of vikas is 10
and age of deepika is 7
