Answer:

total income of vikas be x

total income of ashutosh be y.

so,

expenditure of vikas 100 - 20 = 80 %

expenditure of Ashutosh 100 - 40 = 60 %

x × 80/ 100 = y × 60/100

x/y = 60 / 80

x / y = 3 / 4

Hope it helps you...

Answer:

let us assume that the income of Vikas and Ashutosh is 'x' and 'y' respectively.

according to the question,

income = saving + expenditure

Vikas: x = 20% of x + 80% of x

Ashutosh: y = 40% of y + 60% of y

as we know,

expenditure of Vikas = expenditure of Ashutosh

that means,

80% of x = 60% of y

x/y = 3/4.

So the ratio between the income of Vikas to income of Ashutosh is 3 : 4 .
