Step-by-step explanation:

Let the amount of money with Nipun be Y

Now money with Vikram = Y + 40

Then they were given 15 extra rupees

Money with Vikram = Y + 40 + 15 = Y + 55

Money with Nipun = Y + 15

According to the ratio given:

13/5 = Y + 55/Y + 15

13(Y + 15) = 5( Y + 55)

13Y + 195 = 5Y + 275

13Y - 5Y = 275 - 195

8Y = 80

Y = 80/8

Y = 10

Therefore Nipun had Rs. 10 in the beginning
