Answer

Vikram's present age is 45 years

and his son's age is 15 years

Step by step explanation

Let us consider the present age of Vikram be x years and that of his son is y years .

According to question

Vikram's present age is three times of his son

x = 3y _____(1)

And five years back his age was 4 times of his son

x - 5 = 4 (y - 5)

=> x - 5 = 4y - 20

=>3y - 5 = 4y - 20 [ x = 3y... from (1)]

=> -y = -15

=> y = 15

And again from (1)

x = 3×15

=> x = 45

Thus present age of Vikram is 45 years and of his son's is 15 years

Answer:

Let the Present Age of Son be n years, and of Vikram be 3n years.

5 Years Back, According to Question :

↠ Vikram = Three times of Son

↠ (3n – 5) = 4(n – 5)

↠ 3n – 5 = 4n – 20

↠ 20 – 5 = 4n – 3n

↠ n = 15

Present Ages :

⇴ Son = n = 15 years

⇴ Vikram = 3n = 3(15) = 45 years

Present Age of Vikram is 45 years.
