let datta's salary be Rs 100

Ajay's salary = 100- 20% of 100

= Rs 100-20 = Rs 80

Vikram's salary is 20% more than Ajay

Therefore, Vikram's salary = Rs 80+20% of 80

= Rs 80+16 = Rs 96

Therefore if datta's salary is 100 than Vikram's salary is Rs 96

Datta's salary is 4.17% more than Vikram's salary

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the salary of Datta

Ajay's salary is 20% less than Datta

Ajay's salary = x-0.2x=0.8x

Vikram's salary is 20% more than Ajay

So, Vikram's salary = 0.8x+0.2(0.8x)=0.96x

Difference between Datta and Vikram's salary = x-0.96x=0.04x

So, Datta's salary is more than Vikram by percent =\frac{0.04x}{0.96x} \times 100=4.17\%

Hence Datta's salary is 4.17% more than Vikram's salary
