  • let

Transaction = LCM of 18 & 15 (selling & buying rates) = rs 90

then 5 shares sold @ rs18 & 6 shares bought @ rs15

annual loss = 5 x 20 x 0.08 - 6 x 10 x 0.12 = Rs 0.80 ( 8% = 0.80 & 12% = 0.12)

since loss was rs 120,

No. of shares = 120/0.8 = 150

Answer:

Let transaction = lcm of 18 & 15 (selling & buying rates) = rs 90

then 5 shares sold @ rs18 & 6 shares bought @ rs15

annual loss = 5*20*0.08 - 6*10*0.12 = rs0.80

since loss was rs 120,

# of shares = 120/0.8 = 150
