Vimala bought 51 of cooking oil and used 3 L 420 ml for cooking food. How much oil is left with
her?

1 L = 1000 ml

so 51L = 51 × 1000 ml= 51000 ml

now she has used 3 l 420 ml means (3× 1000) ml+ 420 ml= 3420 ml

subtract 3420ml from 51000 ml to get the required quantity

on subtracting, (51000 - 3420) ml = 47580 ml

1 ml = 1/1000L

so 47580ml = 47580/1000 L = 47.580 L = 47.58L
