Let the weight of the first piece = x g
The weight of the first piece is 7g lighter than the second piece i.e second piece is 7 g heavier than the second piece.
Therefore
The weight of second piece = x + 7 g
The weight of the first piece is 4 g heavier than the third piece i.e third piece is 4 g lighter than the first piece.
Therefore
The weight of the third piece = x - 4 g
The total weight of three pieces = 300 g
x + x + 7 + x - 4 = 300 g
3x + 3 = 300
3x = 297
x = 99 g
The weight of first piece = 99 g
The weight of the second piece = x +7 = 106 g
The weight of the third piece = x - 4 = 95 g
The weight of the first piece is 7g lighter than the second piece i.e second piece is 7 g heavier than the second piece.
