Lemon brought=40×12=480 Lemon remained=480-40=440 Remained lemon sold =440×1.50=660 Gain =660-480=180 Gain%=180/480×100=37.5%

vinay buys 12×40=480 lemons for rupees 480. thus cost price of a lemon is rupees 1. now 40 lemons are rotten. thus left lemons are 440.
vinay solds 440 lemons at rupees 1.50 rupees each.
selling price of 440 lemons = 440×1.5=660.0 rupees.
profit =660 - 480 = 180 rupees.
profit percent is equal to (180÷480)×100 =37.5%
