Given :

Vinay wants to cover a floor of 3m wide and 4m long by squared tiles.

To Find :

If each square tile is of side 0.5m,then how many number of tiles are required to cover the floor of the room?

Solution:

Length of floor = 4 m

Breadth of floor = 3 m

Area of floor = Length \times breadth = 4 \times 3 = 12 m^2

Side of square tile = 0.5 m

Area of square tile = Side^2 =0.5^2 = 0.25m^2

No. of tiles required to cover floor = \frac{12}{0.25}=48

Hence 48 tiles are required to cover the floor of the room
