Answer:

  1. Vincent Van Gogh belonged to Netherlands.
  2. During his lifetime, Van Gogh only had one painting sold, and it was called "Red Vineyard in Arles." The Pushkin Museum in Moscow is currently the proud owner of this painting. After Van Gogh's passing, the remaining more than 900 paintings he created did not find buyers or gain fame until much later.

Explanation:

A brief history of Vincent Van Gogh is given below:-

  • Vincent Willem van Gogh, also known as Vincent van Gogh, was a Dutch painter. He was born in Zundert, Netherlands, on March 30, 1853, and died in Auvers-sur-Oise, France, on July 29, 1890.
  • Vincent van Gogh is largely considered to be the best Dutch painter after Rembrandt van Rijn and one of the greatest Post-Impressionists.
  • The expressive brushwork, contoured forms, and startling colors that he used in his work had a significant impact on the modern art movement known as expressionism.
  • After Van Gogh's death, his artwork had a spectacular surge in popularity, particularly in the latter half of the 20th century, when examples of it achieved unheard-of amounts at auctions held across the world and were featured in very successful travelling exhibitions.
  • Van Gogh has often been portrayed in popular culture as the archetypal tortured artist. This is partially attributable to the fact that he authored a huge number of published letters.
