Answer:

The rate of interest is 10%

Step-by-step explanation:

Initial principle = Rs.2,00,000

Time = 2 yrs

Let rate of interest = r%

Then S.I for 2 yrs.

S.I = (P×rt)/100

     =(2,00,000×r×2)/100

      =4000r

After 2 yrs he withdraw Rs.1,00,000

Now sum= 2,00,000-1,00,000=Rs.1,00,000

Total time= 5 yrs

Now S.I for next (5- 2) =3 yrs

S.I = (1,00,000×r×3)/100

     = 3000r

After 5 yrs he got Rs,1,70,000 i.e sum+S.I

So S.I = Rs. 1,70000-1,00,000= Rs.70,000

Now,

Total S.I= S.I for 2 yrs +S.I for 3 yrs

     70,000= 4000r+3000r

     70,000= 7,000 r

          r= 70,000/7,000=10%p.a
